" TOKYO, April 30 (Xinhua) -- A passenger who arrived at Japan's Narita international airport Thursday has tested positive for the swine flu in a preliminary examination, Kyodo News reported, citing airport sources.

The woman passenger, a Japanese national who traveled on a Northwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles, was sent to Japanese Red Cross Narita Hospital.

Some 10 other passengers sitting around her would be transported to another medical institution for further examinations, the report said.

If officially confirmed, it will be the first case of swine flu in Japan as the nation has not seen an outbreak of the disease."

"TOKYO - JAPAN has reported no human cases of deadly swine flu so far - but a computer virus of the same name has been spreading on the Internet in recent days, authorities warned on Thursday.

Japan's National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) said on its website that a suspicious Japanese-language email message with an attached file called 'information on swine flu' had been circulating in cyberspace.

'The institute has received reports that the email message falsely identifying itself as coming from the NIID is circulating,' it said.

'The email is carrying a file titled 'information on swine flu', which has been recognised as an illegal programme by the institute's virus-checking software,' the NIID statement said.

The institute did not say what kind of malware was hidden inside the file or what harm it might do.

The email, originating from senders in the '@yahoo.co.jp domain, seemed to be sent to random Internet users, the institute said.

'It is obviously a suspicious message falsely identifying itself,' it said.

NIID staff were not immediately available for comment.

Japan has so far reported no human cases of swine flu, which is believed to have killed up to 84 people in Mexico - eight of them confirmed - and has spread to the United States, Europe, Israel and New Zealand. -- AFP"

So who tell the truth... ?

Japan fears first swine flu case

JAPAN may have its first case of swine flu, Health Minister Yoichi Masuzoe said this morning.
A 17-year-old Yokohama high school boy was tested yesterday after falling ill. Authorities say the presence or otherwise of the new H1N1 strain should be confirmed later today or tomorrow.

The boy, who is not at serious risk, was in a party of 120 students and teachers who visited British Columbia from April 10 to 25. As of yesterday 11 H1N1 cases had been reported in the Canadian province.

No other ‘flu cases have been reported from the Japanese school group.

Health Minister Masuzoe said schools in the Yokohama area should consider cancelling classes as a precautionary measure.

Following the WHO decision on Wednesday to raise influenza alert level to 5, indicating a high probability of pandemic, the Japanese government decided to set up “fever clinics” at strategic hospitals around the country and to build its stockpile of Tamiflu, an anti-viral drug believed to be effective against the new strain.

A Health Ministry official said yesterday there were sufficient doses for almost 34 million of Japan’s 126 million people and government stocks were being built to cover another 8.3 million.
